“Pioneer Inn – Prince Rupert, British Columbia Canada” – 14″ H x 20″ W Watercolor by Peggy Burkosky

Hard work paid off at our August 30, 31 2 Day Watercolor Workshop at The Old School House Arts Centre: “PaintingĀ Street Scenes – Perspective, Light & Shadow”. We learn how to keep things simple and focus on a well-studied and simplified value plan before we start. The steps illustrated here show how useful a light to mid-value “underpainting” works for us, as it ties background, middle ground and foreground together and is the foundation for all the darks, details, finishing touches and shadows.
